Universal introduces post-lockdown curfew policy last month
Universal Studios Resort in Orlando, Florida has just revealed a new policy it will be implementing in order to keep guests safe. Customers under the age of 21 will now have to observe a curfew on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, effective immediately.
Guests under the age of 21 will not be allowed through hub security after 9 p.m. unless accompanied by an older guest. There are, however, a few exceptions:
- Guests accompanied by a parent, guardian or other family over the age of 21
- Guests staying at a Universal Orlando Resort hotel with a key card
- Guests who have already purchased a movie ticket at Universal Cinemark will be escorted to the cinema. Customers under the age of 21 will not be allowed through security to purchase a ticket

Visitors under the age of 18 will be escorted out of CityWalk by security after 9:00 p.m. if not accompanied by a parent or other party member over the age of 21. Guests over 18 but under 21 will be permitted to stay in CityWalk after 9:00 p.m.

It comes after the entire Orlando resort was locked down following a fight at the park last month. The CityWalk and parking lots at Universal Orlando Resort were closed and evacuated after a fight broke out between several minors.
The Orlando Police Department said WFLA no one was injured and no shots were fired. The lockdown and evacuation were said to have been prompted by an “abundance of caution”. We saw a similar policy being implemented at Knott’s Berry Farm after that park was also forced to close due to violent mobs. To learn more about Universal Studios park rules, Click here.
