It’s time to ppp-pick up a pumpkin!


Halloween is just around the corner and the spooky festival wouldn’t be the same without a glowing pumpkin to greet the sweet tooth or to decorate your home with devilishly fabulous designs.

You can sculpt a smiley face or create a ghoulish smile – either way, it’s a lot of fun and a great way to get into the spirit of things!

There are lots of pumpkin patch fields in and around Liverpool, so put on your rubber boots and wade through one of these perfect spots…

Claremont Farm, Old Clatterbridge Road, Bebington

They must have crunchy pumpkins at Claremont Farm because they have wheelbarrows ready to take them back to your car.

The Pumpkin Patch is now open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily – and on the weekends (and halfway through) there’s even a small fair. Each pumpkin is sold by weight with an average of between £ 2 and £ 4, but they have ‘huge’ ones this year, at most £ 10. The pumpkins are on PYO Strawberry Field (past the farm shop, over the freeway bridge and the first door on the left) and for sale “until they’re gone”!

Windmill Animal Farm, Fish Lane, Burscough

With thousands of pumpkins to choose from, you can make it a day at Windmill Animal Farm.

You need to book a ticket for their pumpkin-picking adventure, but that gives you full access to the open farm attraction, as well as pumpkin-picking privileges. Each ticket purchased (from £ 15.95) includes a pumpkin of your choice and you can purchase more pumpkins on the same day.

All pumpkins are farm grown and there are many different varieties and sizes. It can be muddy, so don’t forget your rubber boots – and book early, it tends to fill up quickly!

Southport Yachting Country

The fair isn’t open yet, but you can still have an exciting time at Southport Pleasureland picking the perfect pumpkin.

You will be able to pick your own pumpkin in the Pleasureland Pumpkin Patch by the end of October, but it’s only open to everyone by October 22 (1 p.m.-6 p.m. and there is free parking). From October 23, it will only be accessible to people visiting the park for its 9 Spooky Days of Fun.

Little Al Urban Farm – Eastham Nurseries, New Chester Road, Birkenhead

There’s a lot going on at Little Al’s Urban Farm between October 25-31, from Trick or Treating, Haunted House Fun, and Pumpkin Picking.

You can even say hello to all the animals – the farm is free to enter, with pet food to be purchased for a small fee from the Glitter Shack Coffee Shop which helps with animal care.

Church Farm, Church Lane, Thurstaston

So how brave do you feel? Church Farm has tons of pumpkins to pick, but these are only for those who book for their Family Fright Festival which takes place by October 31st.

There’s a spooky scarecrow trail, beast barrel train rides, sheep races, and of course a PYO pumpkin patch.

There are still a few tickets left with full-day family tickets at £ 24 (children £ 6; adults £ 6.50) and half-day tickets £ 20 (£ 5; £ 5.50).

The Pumpkin, Orrell Hill Lane, Hightown

There are top quality pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch in Hightown which says “we are famous for our huge pumpkins, perfect pumpkins and fabulous varieties of pumpkins”. And we are not going to argue.

It is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day until October 31. No reservations are necessary and besides being free to enter and park, they have carved a maze out of five acres of their corn crop so you can test your boating skills and challenge yourself. to pick up while picking your pumpkins.

Benty farm tea rooms, school lane, Thurstaston

The Pumpkin Patch at Bungalow Farm, Heatons Bridge Road, Scarisbrick

Bungalow farm is proud of Halloween pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, from small to Atlantic giants and even white pumpkins.

There will be mini pumpkins just for the kids, and they can also play in the tractor barn. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and free without reservation.

Light refreshments are also available and they have spooky Halloween treats and treats.
