Asda, Tesco, Lidl ‘do not eat’ warnings amid product recalls
A number of UK supermarkets have issued product recalls due to health concerns in recent weeks.
Asda, Tesco and Lidl are among supermarkets to issue recalls for a variety of reasons, ranging from undeclared ingredients posing an allergy risk to an outbreak of disease-causing ingredients.

Tesco recall
Tesco issued a “do not eat” warning and is recall of one of its products due to undeclared milk which could lead to a potential health hazard to customers.
The fruit and nut mix from the supermarket contains milk which is not mentioned on the label, making it a potential health risk for anyone allergic or intolerant to milk or milk constituents.
Tesco is recalling products from consumers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, who will notify their members of the recall.

Reminder of the cooperative
Cooperative recalls one of its products due to a labeling error that makes it a potential health risk.
Co-op Irresistible Lemon Yogurt is being recalled because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.
Due to a packaging error, the yogurt was incorrectly packaged in a Toffee yogurt pot.
The error means that it is a possible health risk for anyone with an egg allergy or intolerance.

Lidl reminder
Lidl is reminder one of its products because it may contain pathogenic bacteria.
The supermarket issued a recall on its Eridanous Greek Smoked Mackerel Fillet with Olives and Oregano with Soybean Oil because Listeria monocytogenes was found in the product.
The bacteria can survive and even grow under refrigeration and can cause listeriosis which can last up to several weeks depending on severity.
Symptoms include fever, vomiting and headache, with some cases even resulting in seizures.

Asda reminder
Asda is taking the precautionary step of recalling Asda White Lasagne Sauce due to a possible risk of microbiological contamination due to a production defect.
The issue only affects products sold in Asda stores in North West England, North Midlands and North Wales.

Ardo Reminder
The FSA and Ardo NV recall the Ardo Fruitberry mix after the discovery of hepatitis A in the product.
Symptoms caused by hepatitis A include fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, dark urine and jaundice.
Anyone who purchased the product should not eat it, but return it to the store for a full refund.

Tesco recall
Tesco is recalling several of its products due to the presence of undeclared nuts.
The products affected by the recall are: Tesco Free From Strawberry Cheesecake 2x100g (all dates), Wicked Kitchen Millionaires Sundae 110g (all dates), Wicked Kitchen Strawberry and Vanilla Cheesecake 100g (all dates) and Wicked Kitchen Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake 100g (all dates) Appointment).
Customers are encouraged to return products to the store for a full refund. No receipt will be required.
